It being Mr. Al’s birthday and all, we took a little three-day trip to the town of Mossyrock on Hwy 12, nestled between three bodies of water: Rife Lake, Mayfield Lake and Swofford Pond. Had it been lovely weather like the week before, we would have explored all three. But it wasn’t and we didn’t. Only Thursday was luscious. We spent the whole day paddling our canoe around Swofford Pond which was more like a little lake than a pond. It was a great day. We saw great blue heron, an eagle catch a fish (very cool), several other eagles, black birds, meadow larks, yellow iris and some fish that weren’t biting.
Here’s a photo journal of our trip, complete with captions…

Today is Saturday…yes, I write my blogs on Saturday and schedule them to publish early Sunday Morning so they’re waiting for you.
Unless I mess up.
I’ve been known to do that.
Anyway, today we’re going to be gone all day and into the evening on a field trip learning about bears. I mention this because if I deem this little adventure, blog-worthy, I’ll write it right away for your reading pleasure.
But just in case Mr. Al and I have an unfortunate bear rendezvous, have a great week, Peeps!
Oh! Oh! I almost forgot! Champion of Entean’s proof copy is wending its way to me. We are so close to publication! Looking at May 30th.
