It’s strange visiting a place where you once lived. Makes it difficult to entertain in your own home. Unless you have a dear friend like mine, who has thrown open her doors to me, allowing me to throw open her doors to my friends…well, actually to my son. I’ve taken over her sun porch. I’ve a little redwood forest to wake up in. With the skylights it’s nearly like glamping. Here, I’ll show you, I asked Julie if she minded if I posted bits of her home on my blog. Obviously she said I could. Cuz I am.
Magical, yes?
Nothing much has changed since December when I was here last, other than the hardware store moving into the space once occupied by the old Safeway store.
Makes me wonder what’s happened to the old hardware store space. Will have to check that out.
It’s Memorial Day weekend. The Kinetic Sculpture Race is being run. I’ve blogged about this before. People create sculptures that can only be man powered and must float and then they race them across land and over water for three days.
I think Eatonville needs something like that. I think they should have a race where contestants wore decorated inner tubes. The race could begin at the town center and go down along the road where it would end at Ohop Lake. I’ve even a name for it “The Ohop Bunny Hop.” Could be fun.
The Ohop Bunny Hop. Perhaps contestants need to wear ears or fluffy tails along with their pimped out inner tubes.
Champion of Entean should be published by the end of this week. Stay tuned. As soon as I’ve the links, I’ll post them here. Depends on how fast CreateSpace and Kindle provide them to me.
Have a great week, peeps! I’ll be hanging out here in Eureka until Thursday visiting as many friends as I possibly can.
I see Mr. Al’s Green Man sculpture hanging up close to one of the skylights, I think. What a gorgeous home. Tell Julie I’m super jealous.
I will be sure to pass that message onto my generous hostess. Yes! That’s Mr. Al’s Green Man. It’s a casting of his original which we have in our home.
What an awesome friend. Can you introduce us? Enjoy your visit!
