In my Color of Woman certification program, we are beginning to focus on our artist statements and bios, i.e. Telling the peeps who we are and why we do that thing we do. I’ve always needed to create…either colors or words, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I express myself. I cannot NOT express myself for long or I become an unhappy Camster. I feel like I’ll burst into a million pieces, not in a good way.
Colors or words…let me at ’em.
It’s all I ask.
I think everyone has this urge. I really do. For some it comes out as songs or singing. For others, it’s golf or tennis or fishing or making lots of money. Photography. Cooking. You name it. It’s in there. There’s this little finger inside poking and poking at you until you act.
So if everyone has this urge (according to moi) then why aren’t they doing it? Poor boos! My heart goes out to those who, for whatever reason, aren’t expressing some form of creativity. I wish you all would at least try. Screw the voice in your head who says you’re not any good at it. Who really cares?
Really…who cares? Why do you need someone to like your stuff when it just feels soooooooo good making your stuff? Putting the love in your stuff. Making little treasures that make you feel happy? If you don’t think anybody would like or appreciate it, then just don’t show anybody.
But whatever you do that comes from your heart and from a place of joy will be appreciated. Maybe not by everyone. But who cares?
It just feels so giddy-good saying ‘yes’ to your creativity.
Have a great week, peeps!
A lovely celebration of “moi’s” favorite pastimes!!
