Good morning peeps! I’m in Healdsburg, following my Color of Woman Intentional Creativity Quest, painting and being taught by Shiloh Sophia, herself.
It is intense. It is uplifting. It gives me courage that I, too, can teach these workshops that create transformation along with beautiful artwork.
We are learning to transform our Inner Critic (who happens to sound like my mother) into our Muse. From what my Muse is teaching me — already– the Inner Critic is safer. The Muse makes demands, lovingly, of course, and with humor, of course…most times…if you’re listening.
But she wants to be fed and she’s got a healthy appetite.
What feeds her, you might ask?
Simple answer, not so simple to perform…you must be willing….
Because the more you feed her, the hungrier she seems to get. (Reminds me of a Tim Powers book entitled The Stress of Her Regard...I’ve always loved that title.)
Your creativity feeds her, renews her, keeps her full and flowing.
And in exchange?
She enlivens, teaches, coaches, loves, supports, inspires, plays tricks, makes you want to dance, makes you desire to create.
Best of all, she frees you from that Inner Critic, becomes your companion on a delicious and colorful adventure where why not? becomes your motto.
I leave you with some of Shiloh Sophia’s beautiful paintings. Her Muse is nice and full…
Sounds super fun and amaaazing!!
