We spent the evening packing and labeling our meals into ziplocks-within-a-ziplock kits. That way, when we pick a meal, it’s all there. It’s the usual camping fare. Here’s an example of one dinner: top ramon noodles with dehydrated ground buffalo (thanks to our food dehydrator), dehydrated spinach (again, the food dehydrator), a medley of freeze dried veggies from the natural food store, powdered cheese and powdered milk. When we’re ready, we’ll boil some water and rehydrate everything into yumminess. We also bought freeze dried meals at the local outdoor adventure store. Why not, eh?
Checked the weather and it is still looking good. Am now planning to pack my bathing suit. Heck, this camp site hosts about 2000 campers per year. Odds are, we won’t be seeing many people, so why not use the opportunity to bare my Humboldt-fog-shrouded-lily-white-form to the rays of the sun so that it will turn a nice honey brown??
Riiight…..I’m like a marshmallow. Do you know how careful you have to be in order to toast them to a golden brown? Do you know how easy it is for your marshmallow to burst into flame? That would be me.
And Mr. Lupus Al is not supposed to be in sunshine. Hence, we’ll be taking our SPF clothing, sun screen and hats. We’ve become pros with the cover up.
Okay, I’m tired tonight. I’ve lost the ability for cleverness. More tomorrow….packing the car. Sounds like a photo op to me!
