My darling friend, Julie, is here for four days. We like to split the time between Seattle and Mt. Rainier. Yesterday was the mountain. Today is the city for boutique hotel pampering.
Who knew it was Free National Park Day and all of Seattle and Tacoma were on the mountain?

Our goal wasn’t the view on this particular visit. We went to say hello to the old growth trees at the Grove of the Patriarchs. So, it wasn’t an issue when the mountain decided to make weather. Check out this cool cloud formation:
We came in from the south because that’s where the trees reside. No waiting at the gate.
