I was thinking this morning about how resistant to change humans are, yet how adaptable they are as well. And change is the only way, as a species, we can evolve and survive. Why are we so resistant?

Just a random thought.

Probably brought on by our having no water in the house…

…over a long weekend.

Why is it one only finds out about the sudden loss of water pressure while in the shower with shampoo running in one’s eyes?

Why do we have no running water in the house?

It’s a mystery, and one I’m not going to wait until Tuesday to solve.

I’m just full of questions this morning.

Lovely Jinks died before the vet could come help him transition. It was very peaceful. Miki, one of our other two dogs, woke me up with her barking. And so, Jinks died, cuddled by me and surrounded by two dogs and two cats. He knew he was loved and he was ready to go.

And Jinks wasn’t the only one who died last week. I’m a little tired of death-talk. Let’s move on, shall we?

I’ve been bouncing back and forth between writing and painting.

Knowing that the weekend was all about tax prep ( and now no-water-in-the-house issues,) I took Friday off as a play day.

I’ve been playing with making a series of icon paintings with very positive affirmations. The affirmations are for me, more than for the world. But, I figure if I need them, there’s at least one other person out there that needs them, too.

So, I leave you with my first in the Ladies of Affirmation series. This one is entitled, “Yes, You Can.” She’s got David Bowie Eyes.
