It’s rainy. It’s January. We all want to go outside.
Individually and collectively, Mr. Al and I’ve been going through old pictures, pictures of sunny (and not so sunny) adventures over the past few years–the places we’ve been to the adventures we’ve experienced. It’s sure been fun.
All that reminiscing? Brought out the wandering star we were both born under. We’ve been bitten by the travel bug and are deciding what to do about it.
Actually, it’s a no-brainer. We travel. But close to home this year. We went a little crazy with the funds last year. Got a skinny piggy bank we’re now in the process of fattening up.
Time for a road trip and camping along the way.
We’re thinking September. We’re thinking making a circle from Seattle, through Canada to Jasper area, down through Glacier National Park and home. That looked good. Got our car. Got a road. Got maps.
Then, we looked at our 20-mile canoe trip pictures. And we caught the water-travel bug. So, perhaps, we’ll do that, too. Google is helping us find potential waterways.
And then there’s our own back yard.
That big beautiful Mountain.
So many trails to walk.
But before anything…
While we fatten up our piggy bank, we skinny down our persons.
The whole family has got a nice layer of winter fat. Yes, even the cats.
This past week, Mr. Al and I began to change those things. We’ve started walking with the pups three times a week. And in between those days, there’s yoga and QiGong and whatever else comes to mind (I like putting on music and pretending I can dance.)
And to be honest, all the book writing I’ve been doing has given me a rather large ass for my troubles. I’m now out of my swivel chair and have brought back my bouncy ball chair so I can bounce and write and I’ve set a timer so I have to move every hour, even if it’s climbing up and down my stairs for 10 minutes.
New Year’s Resoluting? No…getting back into some sort of shape so we can play. We’re tired of being armchair adventurers.
Have a great week, peeps!! I’ll be writing and bouncing.
Yes, me too – I went back to a yoga class and am moving around more at the office instead of slumping at my desk. You have me beat on walking the pups – but my husband has been diligent about it. The pup’s waistline is fine, both of ours, not so much.
