We’re heading into the Holidays, now. Here they come!!!!
This weekend, Mr. Al and I are working on our Christmas cards…not sending them out, but figuring out what we’re going to do this year. Takes some planning.
And then Thursday is Thanksgiving! Yay!
We all get to watch a parade of big balloons. I never got that balloon thing. I get the parade of flowered floats. But big balloons, feisty and unwieldy balloons, no less, I don’t really get.
Whose idea was it anyway?
I couldn’t find that out. I tried.
But I did find out that Felix The Cat was the first balloon in 1927. Here he is:
They didn’t know how to deflate him so they just turned Felix lose and he eventually popped.
“You’ll laugh so hard your sides will ache. Your heart will go pitter pat watching Felix, the wonderful cat.”
I know.
I remember the Felix the Cat song, even tho I wasn’t born in 1927. Please. Don’t even think that.
Have a great week, peeps, and a very Happy Thanksgiving. Parade or no parade, I wish you a day filled with gratitude, contentment and many blessings.
I leave you with an image of Mr. Pip. He’s no Felix! He’s real! And he’s about to find something to pounce upon.
