A mile up from our new home is a lake. Mr. Al and I took a break, donned our rain gear and took a paddle on said lake.
Nature is such a gift.
Before that, I pressed the publish button on Sky Dancers (YAY! IT’S ALIVE! IT’S ALIVE!) and uploaded the Kindle version….only to find five errors caused by transferring documents into other programs.
Sigh, a SNAFU.
It happens.
Have you ever seen the non-printing characters embedded in a document which are the commands for how pretty the document turns out? Add those to the Track Changes commands, and there’s quite a mass of hidden instructions.
And then add the fact that I’ve a Mac and there’s a strong possibility that my formatters have a PC. I know my editor does. And we both have different versions of Word.
It’s a miracle a book is born un-SNAFUED, don’t you think?
So now what?
Now’s the celebration because everything’s been fixed.
As you know, my author assistant is helping me create a release party on my FaceBook page. You are all most cordially invited. It’s next Saturday (November 8th.)
Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/cbwilliamswrites
I’ll be reminding you again, never fear.
I’m gathering a small collection of giveaways, as well as a small collection of guest authors. We will be popping in and out throughout the day. Still not sure how it all works, but my amazing author assistant is scripting it out for me.
I’m learning to trust and delegate to those who know what they’re doing.
Speaking of author assistant…. I hired Maria Connor. Her business is My Author Concierge. Isn’t that a classy title? Much better than “assistant.” In fact, I shall be using that from here on out whenever I speak of my author concierge. (See how I did that?)
Maria is fabulous. I couldn’t do this without her. If you are searching for someone to help you get started on your own marketing campaign, go here and feel your stress dissipate…. http://www.myauthorconcierge.com/Home_Page.html
I leave you with an image of all my books to date.
And another view of the lake…
Oh heck, and one of me and Mr. Al de-stressing!
Have a great week, Peeps!!!!
