The drive from Eureka to Reno is one of my favorite stretches of road, especially around Lassen National Park, the Southern Most tip of the Cascade Range. Interstate 44. Near Shingletown, CA. Don’t you love the name of that town?
Today’s trip was lovely and long, mainly because we got a late start waiting for a prescription to get filled. (When you’re an old fart and are planning to be gone nearly a month, these things can happen.) So, I was pretty weary when we pulled into our Hampton Inn. Now, three hours later, showered and sitting cross-legged on the bed sipping tea, I’m feeling much better. Not rested, but relaxed.
Tomorrow’s our longest day–7 1/2 hours across the Nevada dessert to Salt Lake City.
Going to look through the Nevada TourBook and see what’s in store for tomorrow.
LOL
Mr Q almost ran away to live in the wild on this stretch of road. We’d been traveling for two weeks in a small car, and we let him out to pee, and then it took us nearly 20 minutes to coax him back in, he just kept looking longingly off into the woods and then back at us, and then back at the woods …
< Written on my iPad, which has a mind of its own, and a VERY strange sense of humor!
I don’t blame Mr. Q! I wanted to run away myself!!
