I’m sitting watching the season finale of The Voice. Really like the last 3 finalists. Not sure who’s going to win. I’ll know in an hour. In the meantime….
Day 2 was Spa Day. We got our hair cut and then got talked into the steam room package. We rolled our eyes and thought what have we done, but it was the best! We spent nearly every day going into the steam room and then coming out and diving into the cold pool. You handed them your boarding card and they handed you a deluxe spa robe. You’d change into your swimsuit and then go into a series of 3 steam rooms, each hotter than the one before…like the 3 bears’ steam baths. Papa Bear’s had low steam with heated tile benches like recliners. Mama Bear’s had aromatherapy for sinuses and relaxation and was cute and only seated about 4 people. Baby Bear’s was HUGE and was so filled up with steam you could hardly see your hands. With our pores wide open, we’d towel off and then head into the pool–one of those, don’t think and just dive in kinds. Heart stoppingly chilly. But fun. It had a current that you could either swim against or flip on your back and get swirled around and around. I did a lot of swirling.
Picture time:
Nice, huh? The Spa and Workout area.
Bye bye hair.
Shopping Mall or Ship?
It was a little rough and people were having tummy issues. Fortunately, Al and I are okay with rocking and rolling, but we saw a few unhappy faces for a couple of says until the ocean calmed down a bit for folks. It’s hard to take a picture of a large swell because you’re so high above the water that they don’t look very large. But they were. Saw some dolphins surfing our ship’s wake. That was cool.
