That’s what my mom used to say when things happened. It was a good one, you could use “Good Heavens” if something good happened or if something untoward happened. It works both ways. I usually differentiate between the two and say things like “Wow! That’s so awesome!” or “Shit! Bummer!”
I think I’m going to start saying “Good Heavens!” I like it.
So….how were your weeks, peeps? All sorts of things going on up in the Heavens. (Good Heavens!) Planets and Stars were whirling around forming all these whack-a-doodle formations that got astrologers all a-twitter. I was sort of paying attention. I think astrology is fun as a roadmap of sorts…what energies are there to support you and your activities, that kind of thing, but not to be taken too seriously because you can get to the point that you won’t make a move unless the stars are aligned just right and what’s the fun in that? You may miss out on something.
Besides, I’ve noticed that I am pretty much behaving and acting in accordance to the astrological forecast if I’m being mindful and not lazy-mindful, and listen to my inner knowing or God, if you will. Or Guidance, if you will. Or what your astrology is telling you, if you will. It’s all pretty much up to you, isn’t it? Just gotta pay attention…
Pretty much…
So, I was having the BEST writing week. Sky Dancers was just unfolding so beautifully. I was backing things up and having such satisfying experiences.
Then…Doom Wednesday struck! My MacBook did an automatic security upgrade and wiped out two days worth of writing, 17 hours worth of writing…..GOOD HEAVENS!!!! It even wiped what I’d stored in my external hard drive and my flash drive…because I had the Sky Dancer file open and my external devices talking with Mac when the security upgrade commenced.
Odd….don’t quite understand how it happened….the above is what I pieced together after the initial FUCK! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Fortunately, I downloaded what had been saved to Carbonite (my auto back up security storage) and only lost a day’s worth of work…my longest wrting day…GOOD HEAVENS!
So, I spent the rest of the week recreating what I’d written. Hopefully, it’s even better. If not…oh well…that’s what editors are for and why it’s called the Messy First Draft.
And I am now emailing my Sky Dancers to a friend for safekeeping at the end of each day…just in case.
Okay…enough drama.
Here’s a video of my attempt at taking a Selfie with Mr. Al and his best friend, Christopher.
Please to allow me to set the stage:
We were visiting Mr. Al’s family in Minnesota a couple of years ago, and whenever we go to Minnesota we make a point of hanging out with Christopher. He’s our brother-from-another-mother.
AND….we were celebrating. AND wine was involved. (Lots of wine. Good Heavens!) AND….we wanted to capture it on digital (I guess you can’t say film anymore since it’s not)
Here you go….I think it’s funny….It could be a “Have to have been there moment.” You decide.
Have a Happy Week, Peeps!
