It’s a beautiful morning. I slept until 8:30, but it’s actually 7:30 on account of the time change. I woke up a lot last night. It seems to be a new pattern for me…no biggie. But as I was waiting to go back to sleep, I just felt so contented and peaceful as I thought back on the conversations and laughter at dinner. It being formal night, there were photography stands all around. We took the opportunity to take some family shots. I hope they turn out, altho we will buy them regardless. How often do we all get together?
(I just spent the last 20 minutes spacing out watching the water.)
Today is Packing Day. Tonight before you go to bed, you have to set everything out except what you are going to be wearing in the morning and carry on items. I usually sleep in my robe so I can pack my pjs as well.
Packing and relaxing…visits with Bob, Molly and the cousins. Its both my cousin Di and jane’s birthdays today, so we’ll celebrate with them tonight. That’s the plan.
October Ninth…..Off the Boat
And, as far as plans go….that was exactly what happened. And then we said our good-byes wondering when we will all be together again.
Right now, Al and I are waiting for our flight to San Francisco. We have been at JFK since 9:00am. Our flight is scheduled to board at 2:00. I think we shall make it.
It’s a lovely sunny day out there. Should be good flying.
(Just got a text from Molly. She and Bob have hooked up with their son and daughter-in-law and are on their way to the Empire State Building.)
Went through my first X-ray screening. They didn’t like the snaps on my pant pockets and I had an additional patting down by a gloved woman.
Found our gate and settled down beside a pillar containing an electrical outlet. The news is on and some canned music is being pumped out over the speaker system. The sounds don’t really play well together, which makes both ignorable.
Nothing much to report. Think I shall post these final blogs and then some pictures while I have the time…
