In the beginning …..

I’ve been mulling over for awhile this idea of writing a blog. I’ve an abandoned blog on my website already, so, you see, I’m not a very diligent blogger. However, I thought I’d give it another go. A dear friend of mine wrote a blog of her cross-country road trip which I really enjoyed. It was as if I were traveling with her, sharing her experiences. Fun.

And that’s when the idea of writing a travel blog began to blossom. I usually post pictures on FaceBook when I travel, but I don’t check FB much….too busy playing. In the evenings, when I’m relaxing from play, I’d journal. So, instead of writing in my journal, I shall log my daily events onto the web. That’s the plan, anyway. Not sure how consistent I shall be…but this website has an app so I can at least post pictures using my iPhone.

A weblog is born.

Funnily enough, a week from today, I shall be boarding a Holland America cruise ship sailing to Bermuda. It’s a short cruise …. A day and a half to Bermuda, three days docked at the island, and a day and a half back. We will fly to New York City next Saturday (October 1st) and, on Sunday, sail down the Hudson river out to the Atlantic. If I’m not too focussed on my boat drink, perhaps I’ll see the Statue of Liberty on my way.

I love being on the water! And, this time, I’m packing my snorkeling gear, sans flippers. I figure we can rent some flippers, but you really can’t rent a mask with prescription lenses designed for a bat. I think I’d do better with sonar, but that’s another story.

If you are a cruise addict, you will be aware that you can purchase excursions to go on while you are out there cruising and seeing different sights. This time, we signed up for two. And we rented two mopeds for a day, but that’s about it. The rest, we’ll decide as we go.

What are the two excursions? Not telling yet.

This is just my first blog. Gotta have some mystery to keep you entertained and curious.
